Vilém Vlček — violoncello

In 2023, at the age of 25, Vilém Vlček won first prizes in prestigious international competitions: 50th International Instrumental Competition in Markneukirchen and Krzysztof Penderecki International Music Competition. His other musical awards include winning the renowned instrumental competition Rahn Musikpreis (Switzerland, 2022) and the Bohuslav Martinů Foundation Competition (2021).
Already prior to those successes, Vilém has performed with a number of symphonic orchestras around Europe.
In 2024 he will debut at the Prague Spring festival, with the Czech Philharmonic and several Polish and German orchestras.

Since graduating from high school in 2018, Vilém has been studying at the Musik-Akademie in Basel in the class of Professor Danjulo Ishizaka. In addition to his studies, he regularly participates in masterclasses (Frans Helmerson, Steven Isserlis, Marek Jerie, Michal Kaňka, Alisa Weilerstein). Since 2023 he has been assistant to Danjulo Ishizaka at the Universität der Künste in Berlin.
