Filip Rufer started playing the cello at the ZUŠ in Červený Kostelec under the guidance of Jana Šimková. In 2022 he graduated from the Pardubice Conservatory in the class of Josef Krečmer and Jan Zemen. He is currently studying at the Academy of Performing Arts under Miroslav Petráš and at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber in Dresden through Erasmus under Emil Rovner. Filip has won numerous awards: first prize at the Talents for Europe competition, first prize at the “Youth and Bohuslav Martinů” competition, second prize at the Pro Bohemia Ostrava International Competition, second and third prize at the Gustav Mahler Prize, twice third prize at the Jan Vychytil International Competition and third prize at the Conservatory Competition.
With his piano trio Trio con brio he won first prize at the Camerata Teplice competition. As a soloist he has performed repeatedly with a number of Czech orchestras. He was a member of the PKF - Prague Philharmonia Orchestral Academy and since 2022 he has been part of the Chamber Music Academy project. He has also participated in many masterclasses with Emil Rovner, Jérôme Pernoo, Petr Nouzovský, Václav Lukeš, Jiří Bárta and Michal Kaňka.
