Dniel Macho attended violin lessons at the ZUŠ Valašské Meziříčí and then at the Kroměříž Conservatory, where he was a member of the chamber ensemble Camerata Cremsiriensis and a piano trio that won several top prizes at competitions. After graduation he began to study viola at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague with Karel Untermüller. Parallel to his Bachelor's programme, he also studied with violist Pavel Nikl (Pavel Haas Quartet) and, through Erasmus, with Wolfgang Klos at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna. During his master's studies he completed a one-year internship at the Hochschule für Musik Haans Eisler in Berlin in the class of Florian Peelman. He also participated in master classes with prominent violists such as Lawrence Power, Maxim Rysanov, Tobias Lea, Allan Nilles and others. He has received numerous awards at international viola competitions. In 2022 he performed solo with the PKF - Prague Philharmonia. His experience in chamber music was gained during his studies, as a scholarship holder at the Academy of Chamber Music and on Villa Musica projects.
