Alex Link is an outstanding violinist and violist praised for his musicality and beautiful tone. He has been a winner of numerous competitions including National First Prize winner of the Music Teachers National Association Competition, Second Prize winner of the American String Teachers National Solo Competition and First Place winner of the Johansen International Triennial Competition. As a chamber musician, Alex has won the First Prize at the Rembrandt Chamber Players Competition, Gold Medal at the prestigious Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, and Grand Prize at the Coleman ChamberEnsemble Competition. He has performed throughout the United States, Spain, France, and Czechia and has participated in festivals including the Steans Institute of Music at the Ravinia Festival, Music Academy of the West, Meadowmount School of Music, and Festival de L’Est in Paris.
He has studied and collaborated with many distinguished pedagogues such as Roland and Almita Vamos, Ida Kavafian, Heidi Castleman, Gary Hoffman, Steven Tenenbom, Miriam Fried, Peter Wiley, Hsin-Yun Huang, Franz Helmerson, David Ehrlich, Shmuel Ashkenasi, Michael Tree and Paul Biss.
Alex is a graduate of the Juilliard School of Music and the Curtis Institute of Music. In addition to his musical achievements, Alex has a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Georgia. Over the last 10 years, Alex has taught solo lessons and chamber music to students of a wide variety of levels and ages.
