The Academy of Central Bohemia patronizes top young performers who are intensively engaged in chamber music. Each year, based on auditions, it provides scholarships covering the costs of study, including room and board. The main pillar is projects during which the scholarship holders prepare a programme together with lecturers, presented in several follow-up concerts. The focus of the repertoire is music from the classical and romantic periods, with special projects also performing baroque, 20th century and contemporary music. The Academy has an international outreach thanks to close cooperation with the German foundation Villa Musica Rheinland-Pfalz. The latter represents an opportunity for Czech students to meet and perform together on stage with top students and teachers from German universities. Each season, Villa Musica Foundation teachers are complemented by selected teachers from the Czech Republic.
The Academy is regularly invited to prestigious venues, has performed in the St. Lawrence season of the Prague Spring Festival and repeatedly in the chamber series of the Czech Philharmonic. Abroad, the ensemble has been invited to perform at the Styriarte Festival in Graz, Austria, the Mainzer Musiksomer Festival and as part of the Berlin Philharmonic's chamber series. The orchestra has also been performing on regional stages in the Central Bohemia Region for a long time. Listeners can thus attend concerts of top quality in Kutná Hora, Beroun, Vlašim, Nelahozeves, Niměřice or Kostelce nad Černými les.
